Ellen Philpotts-Page (Halifax, February 21, 1987) is a Canadian actress.
is best known for being the star of Juno, Hard Candy, and for his role as Kitty Pryde (aka Shadowcat) in X-Men: The Last Stand. Previously he was best known in Canada for his roles in various national television series.
is nicknamed The Tiny Canadian (or Little Canada) because of his height (1.55 m is high). The nickname was given to some of his roommates in New York.
Biography
Ellen Page was born in Nova Scotia, a region of Canada. She is the daughter of Dennis Page, a graphic designer, and Martha Philpotts, a teacher. She grew up in his hometown and attended three different schools before graduating in 2005.
Career
Ellen began studying acting at the Neptune Theatre School. His first appearance at the age of 11 years in the TV movie (later turned into a series) Pit Pony. This allowed her to get small roles in films and television series in Canada. At sixteen he got a role in the independent film Mouth to Mouth, which solidified its position among Canada's most promising young actresses.
Choice of 300 candidates for the role in 2005 plays a fourteen year old who suddenly executioners against a pedophile, in the tough thriller Hard Candy. In 2007, the main protagonist of Juno, the interpretation is an Oscar nomination as best actress. Recently he has also participated in the drama The Stone Angel and the comedy Smart People, both published in Italy.

Privacy
Ellen lives in Halifax, his hometown, a city with a strong Buddhist presence. His character and his way of being are in fact strongly influenced by Buddhist doctrine. He had an affair with Ben Foster, known on the set of X-Men: The Last Stand, but is currently single. Many rumors circulated about his alleged homosexuality issue. It is a committed feminist.
His hobbies are playing guitar and sports (among his favorites include athletics, basketball and football, played in his high school years in the role of right wing). He loves to spend their holidays camping. Stated that he owned a dog named in honor of his idol, Patti Patti Smith. It is a sleepwalker.
